Assign Neighborhood Seating in Bulk via Import

Overview

Importing neighborhood seating assignments in bulk is an efficient way to assign many employees to neighborhoods. Here are examples of how you can use bulk import to assign neighborhood seating:

  • An employee who doesn't belong to a neighborhood can be assigned to a neighborhood
  • An employee who belongs to a neighborhood can be assigned to another neighborhood (they'll belong to multiple neighborhoods)
  • Employees who already belong to a neighborhood can be removed from the existing neighborhood assignment, and added to another neighborhood (they'll only belong to one neighborhood)

Important: The neighborhood and employee must exist in your SiQ system before you import neighborhood seating assignments.

Follow these steps to assign neighborhood seating in bulk via import:

  1. Create a CSV file with employee and neighborhood information
  2. Navigate to Manage Neighborhoods
  3. Import the data
  4. Check import history for errors

Step 1. Create a CSV file with employee and neighborhood information

To import neighborhood assignments for employees, the neighborhoods and employees must already be present in your SiQ account.

Formatting the CSV file

Import files should be in CSV format, with these fields:

  • Employee Email  - required
  • From Neighborhood Name - optional
  • To Neighborhood Name - required

This is what a sample CSV import file looks like:
