Assign User Roles and Permissions

By default, every new person added to the system is assigned a Viewer role; this is the role with the fewest permissions in SiQ.

Assign a User Role to an Employee

Assign a User Role in Manage Employees

Complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Employees. The Employee List displays.
  2. Find and click on an employee's name. The employee details dialog displays.

  3. In the SpaceIQ Role section, click the role drop-down and select the role. The employee details are updated.

Assign a User Role via Floor Map

Complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Floor Map.
  2. Find and select the building and floor, where the employee is seated.
  3. Click the employee's seat. The Data Drawer displays.
  4. From the Role (in SiQ) drop-down, select the role. The employee details are updated.

Assign User Roles as a Location Admin

For most user types, this is all you’ll need to do. But if you want to assign someone the Location Admin role, you’ll also need to ​allocate​ specific desks to the appropriate department. The Location Admin will then have control over these specific seats in their location.

Assign User Roles in Manage Employees

Complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Employees. The Employee List displays.
  2. Find the employee’s name and click the employee's name. The employee details dialog displays.

  3. From the SiQ Role drop-down, select Location admin. The employee details are updated.
  4. Click the +Add location link.
  5. Either browse or search for the location.
  6. Select the location and the employee details are updated.

Note to remove a location, hover over the name and then click the X icon. 

Assign User Roles via Floor Map

Complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Floor Map.
  2. Find and select the building and floor, where the employee is seated.
  3. Click the employee's seat. The Data Drawer displays.
  4. From the Role (in SiQ) drop-down, select the Location
  5. Click the Location. The Select buildings and floors dialog displays.
  6. Browse or search for the building and floors.
  7. Select the location and the employee details are updated.

Note to remove a location, click the X icon.

 

Assign User Roles as a Department Admin

For most user types, this is all you’ll need to do. But if you want to assign someone the Department Admin, you’ll also need to ​allocate​ specific desks to the appropriate department. The Department Admin will then have control over these specific seats in their building.

If you want to be able to assign Department Admins to each floor, you can create teams within the department and allocate seats to the appropriate team.

  2. Find the employee’s name and click the employee's name. The employee details dialog displays.

  3. In the SiQ Role section, click the role drop-down and select the role. The employee details are updated.
  4. Click the +Add department link.
  5. Either browse or search for the department.
  6. Select the department and the employee details are updated.

Note to remove a department, hover over the name and then click the X icon.

Assign a User Role via Floor Map

  1. Navigate to Floor Map.
  2. Find and select the building and floor, where the employee is seated.

  5. From the Managed Departments drop-down, browse or search for the department.
  6. Select the department and the employee details are updated.
