When you want a Workplace Group to have allocated seats on the floor map and the employees have assigned seats.
- Workplace Group color or name can be changed in Manage Workplace Groups.
- If you want your employees to be able to book a desk then, see Allocate a Workplace Group to Hoteling Desks.
This can be used when you want to set up a Project Team with employees who need to be assigned seats.
For example, Project Team Y consists of employees from the Operations and IT teams.
- Step 1. Assign the employees to the seats
- Step 2. Allocate the seats to the Workplace Group
- Step 3. Send the Employees their assigned seats
- Step 4. View Workplace Groups on the Floor Map
Step 1. Assign the employees to the seats
Navigate to the Floor Map, click on the Floor Map icon then select the floor you want to manage.
Click the Unseated button.
Click the Current location only toggle on.
Either select the employee from the list or search for the employee.
Drag and drop the employee on the seat.
Step 2. Allocate the seats to the Workplace Group
Hold the Shift key and then click and drag to select multiple spaces. The data drawer displays.
Click the WORKPLACE GROUPS button. The Workplace groups dialog displays.
Check the Assign X employees to workplace group check box.
Check the Assign X seats to workplace group check box.
In the Workplace group field, enter the name of the project team. For example, Project Y.
If the team exists then select the name or to create a new project team click Create option.
The spaces are assigned to the workplace group and automatically saved.
Step 3. Send the Employees their assigned seats
When you have assigned the seats you can quickly share the information with the employee via email.
Step 4. View Workplace Groups on the Floor Map
Remember you can view the workplace groups on the Floor Map when you turn on the View Filter, see Customize Floor Map Views
From the floor map, click the View Filters icon. The Customize your view data drawer will open.
Click the Employee Workplace groups filter.
